印象的なこの数字、思い起こせば日本では、2011年の東日本大震災
その際、大竹昭子さんの呼びかけで
震災の悲しみを乗り越えるために13人の詩人が言葉を持ち寄ったイベントがありました。
継続することに意味があるということで長く続いているイベントです。
それはまるで言葉を花束にして祈り捧げるようだと思ったのがきっかけだったのか
『祈り』という形を意識し出したのは遡ればその頃からだったように思います。
震災後も、台風、水害など、自然災害と呼ばれるものが続き、
祈りの姿の弟橘媛を描いたのが2019年でした。
この年の秋は令和元年東日本台風が日本列島を襲い、東京都美術館が1日臨時閉館。
そのため毎年開催され私も出品している『現水（現代水墨画）展』も、臨時休覧となりました。
その数ヶ月後、2020年に入ってからはコロナ禍で
あらゆるイベントが中止、延期される事態になりました。
2022年2月にはウクライナの地で戦争が始まり、
個展に向けた創作の1年。
気持ちが落ち着かない日々を過ごすなか、少しずつ書きためたのが
『祈りの墨美神®︎』シリーズです。
現在開催中の【樋口鳳香・墨美神展】会場のメインを飾っている120号の『祈りの風』は、
2022年10月に東京都美術館で展示したものです。
個展副題の『水ぬくみ花ほどく』は、
この個展が、次の季節を照らす光を感じられる展示にしたいと思ったからです。
ちなみに、今年は3年ぶりにその言葉をあつめるイベントも開催されるそうです。
1日も早く、穏やかな季節が訪れますように。

There was an event where 13 poets brought their words together to overcome the grief of the disaster.
It is an event that has been going on for a long time because it makes sense to continue.
Was it because I thought it was like turning words into a bouquet and offering a prayer?
I think it was around that time that I began to be conscious of the form of "prayer."
Even after the earthquake, typhoons, floods, and other so-called natural disasters continued.
It was 2019 when I drew Hime Ototachibana in prayer.
（Hime Ototachibana, the wife of Yamato Takeru in Japanese mythology.
She is said to have calmed the great storm by jumping into the stormy sea herself.）
In the autumn of that year, the 2019 East Japan Typhoon hit the Japanese archipelago, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum was temporarily closed for one day.
For that reason, the "Gensui (Contemporary Sumi-ink Painting) Exhibition", which is held every year and I also exhibit, has been temporarily closed.
A few months later, in 2020, all events were either canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In February 2022, war began in Ukraine,
During the year leading up to my solo exhibition, I spent restless days, and little by little I created the "Prayer SUMIBISHIN®" series.
The main work of the currently held [Hoca Higuchi / SUMIBISHIN®︎ Exhibition], "Prayer Wind" was exhibited at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in October 2022.

The subtitle of the solo exhibition, “Untangling Water and Flowers,”
This is because I wanted to make this solo exhibition a place where you can feel the light that will illuminate the next season.
This spring, an event to collect the words will be held for the first time in three years.
